The 15th European Conference on Laser Interaction with Matter was held January 18–22, 1982, at Schliersee, near Munich. Traditionally, this Conference is organized by one of the European laboratories engaged in laser-fusion-oriented work. The Schliersee Conference was organized by the Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik, Garching (FRG). This institute is the successor of Projektgruppe für Laserforschung at Garching which was recently transformed into a new Max Planck institute.
