Plasma Losses in a Q-device

Probe and microwave measurements support the view that the ordinary plasma of a Q-device is suitably described by the "equilibrium" model. An apparent discrepancy between Motley's results, giving considerable support to the "equilibrium" model, and those of Grieger and others appears to be resolved by consideration of probe losses.
