The paper summarizes those aspects of the 5th IAEA Technical CommitteeMeeting on Alpha Particles in Fusion Research which relate to experimental measurementsof fast ion confinement and heating, the measurement and interpretation of fastparticle distribution functions, thermal particle transport and the measurement andinterpretation of ion cyclotron emission.
