Multi-color diagnostics are very useful and important for studying the multi-component plasma process. However, the temporal, spatial and spectral resolution of the diagnostics still limit the physical study. The metasurface technology provides a new method to transform the spectrum information to temporal and spatial information. Together with the fast imaging technology, it makes it possible to achieve high-temporal, spatial, and spectral-resolution imaging of the multi-component plasma. In this study, the principle and mathematical algorithm of the metasurface multi-color imaging (MMI) diagnostics are proposed. Aimed at linear device experiments, an MMI system has been designed to distinguish the visible spectral lines of Argon and Helium. Simulation study shows that this system can achieve clear two-dimensional imaging of different wavelengths at the same time and can contribute to the study of multi-component plasma turbulence.
