The effect of the slowing-down rate of fusion products on the burn wave propagation velocity and the inertial confinement fusion (ICF) target yield has been studied. The results indicate that the yield of strongly burning targets is relatively insensitive to the fusion product slowing-down expression. Marginally burning targets are much more sensitive to the fusion product slowing-down rate.
