Sherwood International Fusion Theory Conference Report on the 1991 Sherwood Conference held at Seattle, Washington, United States of America, 22–24 April 1991

W. Horton1991年Nuclear FusionIF 3出版社

At the Sherwood International Fusion Theory Conference, the latest advances in fusion theory and basic theoretical plasma physics were presented. Areas of particular emphasis at this conference were: (1) the use of hydrodynamic-like simulations of various forms of drift wave/Kelvin-Helmholtz turbulence, (2) the development of kinetically modified multicomponent transport equations with kinetic formulas for the parallel fluxes in the long mean free path limit, and (3) computations of the global Alfvén wave eigenmodes in tokamak geometry, and the stability conditions obtained by balancing the thermal plasma Landau damping and the continuum Alfvén wave spectrum damping with the alpha particle drive.
