Neutral-gas acceleration by an electromagnetic plasma gun

G.J. Pert1971年Nuclear FusionIF 3出版社

It has recently been found (Pert, 1970) that an unionized shock wave is formed during the early discharge in a parallel-plate rail gun. Using this result it is possible to accelerate neutral gas to high velocities with a low ionization level. A system utilizing this principle is proposed to accelerate neutral gas to high velocity. An analysis of the proposed system is presented.
