Efficient parameter estimation in 2D transport models based on an adjoint formalism

M Baelmans, M Blommaert, J De Schutter, W Dekeyser, D Reiter2014年Plasma Physics and Controlled FusionIF 2.2出版社

An adjoint based optimization procedure is elaborated to estimate transport coefficients for plasma edge models based on a limited set of known profiles at different locations. It is shown that a set of adjoint equations can accurately determine all sensitivities towards transport coefficients at once. A proof of principle is provided on a simple geometry. The methodology is subsequently applied to assess whether a simple edge model can be tuned toward full B2-EIRENE profiles for a JET-configuration.
