Fluxes of intrinsic and injected impurities as well as of the background plasma ions have been collected using the same bidirectional probe at the plasma edge of the Tokamak MT-1. Comparison of the directional and radial dependences of these particle fluxes allowed us to determine typical properties of the transport of particles diffusing out from the core plasma and to separate effects on collected intrinsic impurity fluxes caused by local sources. The parallel and radial transport of both the plasma ions and the impurity species were found to be strongly coupled.
