Investigation of the configuration of an intense discharge in weak constant and in alternating outer magnetic fields

An investigation has been made of the configuration of a discharge in a toroidal apparatus with magnetic flux conservation in the magnetic chamber section, with constant magnetic intensity in the periphery of the discharge and under conditions of an alternating outer magnetic field. It is shown that in these cases the behaviour of the disoharge can be described on the basis of the quasi-stationary forceless model.
