For original paper J. Norris, ibid., vol.31, p.699 (1989). Results derived by Norris in his recent paper on non-linear saturation of tearing modes, are examined in relation to previously published literature. It is explicitly demonstrated that they are at variance in several important respects with those due to previous workers in this area.
