Attenuation of a 2-to-20 keV H0 beam by the TFR plasma, measured at several radial positions, yielded (a) the total plasma capture cross-sections as a function of the electron density in the conditions of neutral-beam injection heating, and (b) a determination of the deuteron density and Zeff profiles; the latter could be compared with independent estimates.
