The influence of plasma inhomogeneity on the quasilinear dynamics of aspatially limited electron beam is investigated. It is shown thatthe electron beam propagates in a plasma of decreasing density as abeam-plasma structure with a decreasing velocity. Plasmainhomogeneity leads to the beam-plasma structure having energy losses.
