An all-metal antenna with an electrostatic shield has been used to couple, in the TFR plasma, 200 kW of RF power at the first harmonic of the deuterium cyclotron frequency. The observed heating effects are in general agreement with the mode conversion theory of the hydrogen-deuterium hybrid resonance. The associated deleterious effects are weak.
