AbstractHydrogen's purification of methane has been investigated for application to fuel clean-up. After describing the experimental means, results are given as a function of main operational parameters before establishing a process model and its validation. Then a conception of a DT purification prototype is proposed as an application. Globally, the results show that high purification efficiencies can be performed insofar as the uranium bed temperature is sufficiently high (> 800°C) for obtaining acceptable reactional kinetics between methane and uranium. Finally several potential applications to a Fusion Tritium Plant are envisaged.
