This paper presents the evidence for the role ofturbulence-driven poloidal flow generation in the L-Htransition induced by a turbulent heating pulse on the HT-6M tokamak. Itis found that the poloidal flow υθ plays a keyrole in developing the electric field Er and triggering thetransition. The acceleration of υθ across thetransition is clearly correlated with the enhancement of the Reynoldsstress gradient.
