Divertor plasma radiation due to intrinsic impurities is investigated using a one-dimensional (1D) fluid model. The impurities are generated at the divertor plate by chemical and physical sputtering with yields depending on the energy of the incoming particle flux. With an increase in the heating power, the fraction of radiated power increases if the dependence of the impurity yield on the plasma temperature is sufficiently large. In this case, the range of parameters where attached radiating regimes exist is the largest. However, the self adjustment of the radiation set by intrinsic impurities is shown to be prohibitive in terms of erosion.
