A theoretical model is used to predict the effect of full, partial, or no staging on the location and temperature of a theta-pinch plasma. Staging means a combination of separated implosion heating and adiabatic compression phases in the pinch cycle. The model involves numerical integration of fluid equations for electrons, particle orbit equations for ions,and self-consistent turbulent heating and transport for both species.
