The drift-tearing instability for m ≥ 2 is re-examined, by using two-fluid equations in a cylindrical tokamak plasma. Strong deviations from the previously given analytic dispersion relation are found in the most interesting regime, ω* > γT, owing to a non-local structure of the drift mode.
