This Symposium on the engineering problems in fusion research attracted approximately 280 participants including representatives from the USSR, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the Federal Republic of Germany. Two simultaneous sessions were held during all four days and approximately 130 papers were presented. One session was devoted exclusively to fusion-reactor studies with about 40 papers while the other session included the engineering of experimental hardware for present and future fusion experiments. The program included a visit to the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory to view the experiments there. The proceedings of this Symposium will be published by the IEEE in April 1974.
本シンポジウムは、核融合研究における工学的諸問題を扱い、約280名の参加者を集めた。参加者には、ソ連、日本、イタリア、英国、西ドイツからの代表が含まれていた。4日間の会期中、2つの並行セッションが開催され、約130件の論文が発表された。一方のセッションは専ら核融合炉研究に充てられ、約40件の論文が発表された。他方のセッションは、現在および将来の実験装置の工学的側面を扱い、実験用ハードウェアの設計・製作に関する内容が含まれた。プログラムには、プリンストン大学プラズマ物理研究所への訪問見学も組み込まれ、参加者は同研究所の実験施設を見学する機会を得た。本会議録は、1974年4月にIEEEから出版される予定である。
