Summary of the Fifth Workshop on Stochasticity in Fusion Plasmas

The Fifth International Workshop on Stochasticity in Fusion Plasmas was held in Jülich, Germany, from 11 to 14 April 2011. A broad scope of aspects of dynamical systems in high-temperature plasmas was presented. An emphasis was placed on hands-on applications for protection of the divertor and first wall at ITER by three-dimensional magnetic control fields. The projection of these physics aspects to stellarators such as W7-X and LHD has demonstrated once again the generic nature of this topic in the field of magnetically confined high-temperature plasmas. The separate sections of the workshop were concluded by a discussion session. In this summary the workshop topics and the key questions identified in the discussion sessions are surveyed.
