AbstractThe toroidally uniform vessel current in the JT-60U tokamak is estimated by a magnetic fitting code for the plasma initiation and current ramp-up phases, the vertically unstable discharge and the rapid major disruption. The estimated vessel current agrees well with the measured current, and the poloidal vessel current distribution profile is consistent with the plasma displacements.
