The stability of the collisional drift-Alfvén mode, in a shearless magnetic field, is investigated in the local approximation. In the absence of temperature gradients, it is shown that the β-threshold for stability in a collisional, finite-β plasma is essentially the same as the collisionless results, β > 0.15.
