The authors examine the effect of a high-frequency (h.f.) electric field on ion-acoustic oscillations in a magnetized non-isothermal (Te ≫ Ti) current-carrying plasma in which the direct current velocity w0 and the amplitude of the electron oscillatory velocity u0 = eE0/mΩ0 satisfy the condition w0, u0 ≪ vTe. Only those plasma perturbations are considered for which the inequality Ω0 ≪ kzvTe is fulfilled, kz being the wave vector component parallel to the constant magnetic field. Expressions are derived for growth rates in the regions Ω0 ≪ ωs and Ω0≫ωs, and for the case where the parametric resonance condition Ω0 = ωs is fulfilled (Ω0 is the h.f. field frequency, ωs is the ion-acoustic oscillation frequency).
