Electron energies of weakly ionized plasmas under alternating electric fields

W L Harries1984年Plasma Physics and Controlled FusionIF 2.2出版社

The variation of the electron 'temperature' (more accurately average energy) with time in alternating electric fields is required for estimating excitation rates for laser pumping, and for calculating breakdown voltages. The conditions applied to prebreakdown or weakly ionized plasmas where electron neutral collisions dominated. The purpose of the note is to give some additional results and show how they depend on the electron-neutral cross sections which vary from gas to gas with electron velocities. Previous results are recalled briefly for comparison.
