Pinch research

Pinch research is named after the pinch effect whichin turn was first christened and demonstrated experimentallyin 1904 by passing a current through a liquidmetal. The effect describes the tendency of a current-carryingmedium to collapse radially, because of theinteraction of the current with the self-magnetic field.
