This paper discusses experiments on currentless plasma production and heating in the L-2 stellarator by electron cyclotron resonance. Both an ordinary wave with the frequency omega = omega B (f=37.5 GHz) and an extraordinary wave with the second harmonic omega =2 omega B (f=75 GHz) were used. The HF input power varied in the range 100-280 kW, the average density varied in the range 0.75-1.8.1013 cm-3, the central electron temperature Te(0) reached approximately 1 keV, and the energy content was 0.36 kJ.
