Recent studies on spatial structures of internal and edge transport barriers (ITB and ETB) in tokamaks are presented. For the ETB, steady H-mode regimes with small or no edge localized modes, which are important for future reactors, are mainly treated. For the ITBs, the radial profile has larger variety and the situation is more complicated than that in ETB; its criterion, ITBs under reactor-relevant conditions, the foot location, the box-type shape and the ITB at a high bootstrap current fraction are discussed. For the combined ITB and ETB, sustainment of combined ITB and ETB and the linkage between them are discussed.
