Inhibition of ion sound instability by electron trapping in toroidal systems

R.D. Hazeltine, F.L. Hinton1974年被引用 6Nuclear FusionIF 3出版社

Certain results of neoclassical transport theory are used to examine the effect of toroidicity on the ion sound instability in a tokamak-type system in the low-collision-frequency, banana regime. It is shown that ion sound waves are generally stable except very close to the magnetic axis, r/R≤(Me/Mj)2/3.
