The dynamic stability of a semi-infinite composite medium has been studied to include the effectsof collisions with neutral atoms. The case of one-dimensional density gradient in the fluid medium has been studied. It is found that the collisions have a stabilizing influence in the case of transverse mode of propagation.For the longitudinal mode, however, the stability criterion is found to remain unchanged by the inclusion of collisions.
