The loading resistance ΔR of a two-ion species tokamak plasma was measured for fast wave heating with poloidal phasing. The dependence of ΔR on the relative antenna phasing is the same as that of the power absorption calculated by a two-dimensional ICRF code. It is for the first time that the effectiveness of poloidal phasing as a control of polarization could be demonstrated on a high density toroidal plasma with a low aspect ratio.
