Betatron x-ray radiation from laser wakefield accelerators provides a compact source of ultrafast, broadband, high-brightness photons, but its tunability is fundamentally limited by the lack of direct control over transverse electron dynamics. Here, we demonstrate controlled manipulation of betatron oscillations using an externally applied transverse magnetic field whose amplitude varies with a Gaussian profile along the laser propagation direction. The spatially varying magnetic field shifts the electron equilibrium orbit and excites transverse motion through a driven-oscillator mechanism. We develop an analytical model that predicts the induced betatron amplitude and identifies a dimensionless interaction parameter governing the excitation. The final oscillation amplitude is shown to arise from coherent interference between the initial and induced oscillations, enabling both enhancement and suppression of transverse motion. Particle-in-cell simulations quantitatively validate the theoretical predictions and demonstrate tunable betatron x-ray emission with controllable photon yield, spectral distribution, and angular divergence. These results establish externally tailored magnetic fields as a practical approach for phase-selective control of electron dynamics and radiation in plasma-based accelerators.
