The role of finite photon mass in magnetohydrodynamics of space plasmas

D D Ryutov1997年Plasma Physics and Controlled FusionIF 2.2出版社

A self-consistent set of MHD equations accounting for finite photon mass has been presented. General properties of these equations have been discussed. A reduced set describing the motions with a length scale exceeding the Compton length of the photon has been derived. Some specific solutions in this reduced set have been analysed in the context of possible improvement in the estimate of the photon mass on the basis of various astrophysical observations.
