The linear theory of drift waves in a collisionless plasma can give the radial particle and energy flux for a given level of fluctuations. In the ODE device, good agreement was found between direct transport measurements and linear-theory predictions. The experimental methods of diffusion measurement in the hydrogen plasma column are described.
