On determination of the particle pinch coefficient from data on gas modulation experiments

A method of determination of the particle pinch coefficient using spatially stationary points of the transport equation is described. Here no numerical derivatives of the data need to be computed which makes it possible to determine the local value of the pinch coefficient with high accuracy. The method is illustrated by analysing one specific data set.
