Time evolution of carbon density during impurity-hole formation is observed on the Large Helical Device (LHD) to study the dynamic behaviors of the carbon impurity flux. The flux of carbon impurity changes from inward to outward without significant change of plasma parameters in the plasma with a steep gradient of ion temperature. It is also observed that the flux of carbon impurity changes from outward to inward without significant change of plasma parameters at the termination of the impurity hole.
