This symposium was part of the Spring College on Fusion Energy. It consisted of about three dozen talks (some of which will be issued in an IAEA document in the ICTP Series). The agenda as given turned out to be broader than the title of the symposium indicates. I have grouped the contributions into five categories as given below, hoping that the papers selected here will reflect the flavour of those talks most directly related to the original topic of the symposium. The papers had no reference numbers and will be referred to by the names of their first authors.
このシンポジウムは、核融合エネルギーに関する国際カレッジの一部として開催されました。約30件の講演が行われ（その一部はIAEA文書としてICTPシリーズで発行される予定です）、実際のプログラムはタイトルが示すよりも広範な内容となりました。本稿では、発表内容を以下の5つのカテゴリーに分類し、シンポジウムの本来のテーマに最も直接関連する講演の特徴を反映した論文を選定しました。これらの論文には参照番号が付与されていないため、筆頭著者の氏名で参照することとします。
