Turbulent stabilization of collisionless tearing instabilities

Using oscillation centre formalism the electron kinetic response to high frequency fields is derived. Only the non-resonant interaction is renormalized. It is shown that this can lead to a reduction of the growth rates of m ≥ 2 collisionless tearing modes.
