AbstractDesign of an on-line tritium monitoring system by means of photon (bremsstrahlung and excited X-ray) detection is briefly described, with emphasis laid on its radiator part. Tritium absorbed in titanium plated onto a copper disk placed on the wall of the radiator cell was used as a model source of the tritium fuel gas. A discriminative photon-counting method was used for an evaluation of the photon continua.
