Generation of zonal flow by electromagnetic fluctuations

Sangeeta Mahajan, Jan Weiland2000年Plasma Physics and Controlled FusionIF 2.2出版社

The flow generated by electromagnetic drift interchange modes isinvestigated using the reductive perturbative method. In theelectrostatic drift case, for which the inverse cascade of energytakes place, flow can provide an absorbing boundary for the longwavelength modes, hence leading to the saturation of thefluctuations. On the other hand, in the context of the current typicaltokamaks, the contribution of the electromagnetic partof the fluctuations to the generation of shear flow is likely to besignificant.
