AbstractThe presented thermal analysis of the vertical target subjected to highly concentrated (qo≈382 MW/m2) heat loads by means of the developed 2D code demonstrates the potential of ‘plasma machining’ for the divertor PFC's. This creates a possibility to avoid the cascade failure of the flat tiles.
