In the first portion of this paper calculation of the displacement of a sharp-boundary plasma column was performed; in toroidal, figure-eight chambers that are composed of circular arcs and straight-line segments, this boundary is held in equilibrium by a longitudinal magnetic field. Dependence of the displacement of a column of round cross section on plasma pressure was obtained. In the second portion of this study a differential equation has been derived for displacement ξ (ϱ) of magnetic surfaces with a cross section of given radius ϱ without assumption of a sharp plasma boundary. If the plasma-column axis is a sufficiently smooth curve, this equation is integrated in the general case, so that the expression for the displacement is found in an explicit form. All calculations are carried out in the first approximation of the expansion over curvature.
