For the L (low confinement) and H (high confinement) regimes of axisymmetric divertor plasmas, empirical scaling relations for the cross-field electron heat diffusivity χe, the diffusion coefficient D and the inward drift velocity vin are presented. The observed variation of the energy confinement time with plasma current and injection power is explained by the χe dependence on local quantities.
