AbstractThe method to determine the plasma position used for HT-7 is based on Maxwell's equations. This method, which was developed by Zakharov and Shafranov [1], suggests that the actual value of plasma displacement may be described as linear relations of the Fourier components of a poloidal magnetic field. According to these relations, four special coils were designed and installed outside the plasma column. The plasma displacement can be estimated from the coil's voltage signals.
