Propagation of ion-cyclotron waves along a plasma cylinder in a longitudinal magnetic field that slowly changes along the cylinder axis is discussed. An integro-differential equation has been obtained for the electric-wave field, and the solution has been found for this equation in a geometrical-optics approximation.
