Theoretical and heuristic modelling methods are reviewed for studyingturbulence phenomena of fluids and plasmas. Emphasis is placed onunderstanding of effects on turbulence characteristics due to inhomogeneitiesof field and plasma parameters. The similarity and dissimilarity between themethods for fluids and plasmas are sought in order to shed light on theproperties that are shared or not by fluid and plasma turbulence.
