An explanation for the observation of doubly peaked target profiles in JET ispresented. It is based on the similarity between experimental results andEDGE2D code modelling with drifts included. The appearance of doubly peakedtarget profiles is related to the divergence of the radial E×B driftparticle flow along the surface of the target.
