A theoretical and experimental investigation was carried out on the instability of a monochromatic plasma wave due to induced scattering on thermal plasma particles. The authors find theoretical expressions for the growth increment of a test wave through scattering in plasma electrons and ions both without a magnetic field and with a strong magnetic field.The results of the experimental investigation of induced scattering of a monochromatic wave in a strong magnetic field are in satisfactory agreement with the theory evolved.
