Characteristics of the fusion reaction rate and the fusion neutron yield have been investigated taking into account the effect of fast ions. The dependences of the fusion reactivity (〈σν〉B) and normalized fusion reaction rate (QB) on the fast ion energy and target plasma temperature are clarified. The following reactions are considered: (1)D0→D+(D(d,n)3He),(2)D0→D+(D(d,p)T),(3)D0→T+(T(d,n)4He),(4)Tf→D+(T(d,n)4He),(5)D0→H3e+(H3e(d,p)4He),(6)H3ef→D+(H3e(d,p)4He).The mutual relation of 〈σν〉B and QB for each reaction is also clarified. Furthermore, the fusion neutron yield (Fn) has been evaluated using a simple steady-state plasma model in which the radial profiles of the plasma temperature and density or the fast-ion velocity distribution are the same as those observed in recent experiments. The results of this model agree with those of the other calculational model. We have studied the following dependence for JT-60 plasma size: Fnvs.n¯e,Fnvs.τE,Fnvs.n¯e(usingKaye−GoldstonorINTORscaling),Fnvs.nD/(nD+nH),Fnvs.EB,andFnvs.Ti/Te.
