The effect of collisions on the temporal and spacial plasma wave echoes is discussed. For the model collision suggested by Lennard and Bernstein (1958), the problem can be solved precisely instead of approximately as it has hither to been done. It is shown that the echo can be characterized by a Green function. Collision affects the Green function of echoes dramatically and has only a small effect on the dielectric response of the plasma.
